Who writes this, and how to correct it

evenEco are energy assessors. We deliver the work this site describes, which is both why we write it and a bias you should know about.

Who we are

evenEco Limited is a UK commercial property decarbonisation practice. We carry out non-domestic energy assessments, produce costed upgrade specifications, and deliver the work that follows. Our platform, evenHub, turns an existing commercial EPC into an Upgrade Plan.

Our interest, stated plainly

We are not neutral and you should read us accordingly We sell assessments, plans and remediation. That gives us an obvious interest in you concluding that your building needs attention. We have tried to counter it in the way we write: the tools are free and unmetered, we say when an exemption does not apply, we list the funding schemes you cannot use, and the sample plan tells the example owner that no exemption is available to them. Where our commercial interest and the honest answer diverge, we would rather you noticed us choosing the honest answer.

Editorial policy

  • Primary sources. We cite legislation on legislation.gov.uk and guidance on GOV.UK, and we link to them so you can check us.
  • Dates on everything. Every page carries the date it was last reviewed. Regulation changes; undated guidance is a trap.
  • We say when we do not know. SBEM publishes no per-measure point value, so we give ranges and label them as ranges rather than inventing precision.
  • We correct in public. Our own earlier material said EPC C by 2027. That was right when it was written and is wrong now, and we have said so on the pages where it appeared rather than quietly editing.
  • No AI-written regulatory content goes out unreviewed. Everything on this site is reviewed by a person who does this work for a living.
  • We do not claim credentials we have not published. Our assessors' accreditation scheme and registration numbers will be listed here; until they are, this site says "energy assessors" and not "accredited energy assessors", because an unverifiable claim is worth less than none.

Corrections

If you think something here is wrong, tell us. We will check it against the source, correct it if it is wrong, and note the correction and its date on the page. We would much rather be corrected than be confidently wrong to an audience making capital decisions.

What this site is not

It is general information about a regulatory regime, not advice on your building, your lease or your tax position. An accredited assessment is the only authoritative statement of a building's rating; your solicitor governs your lease; your accountant governs your capital allowances. We are not regulated financial or investment advisers and nothing here is investment advice.
