Seven-year payback calculator

The test that decides whether the law requires you to install a measure. Under seven years and it is compulsory – however much it costs.

From three quotations, for an exemption bundle.
At the price you actually pay.
Remember which way round this works A short payback is bad news for your capital budget, not good news. It means the measure is a relevant improvement and you are required to install it. The exemption is only available where nothing passes.

Our Upgrade Plan runs every measure on your recommendation report through the test, in sequence, with costs and lease dates attached.

Common questions

What counts as the cost?

The installed cost, established by three quotations from three separate installers, on headed paper, for the specific measure at the specific property.

What counts as the saving?

The expected reduction in energy costs, using the price you actually pay. Using a national average when your own tariff is very different is the most common way these calculations are challenged.
